The SWCCA enjoyed the artistic dancing of Irene C. and sent her to Holland, MI in 2015. Irene, under the coaching of Dayna Meixell, sent in an application for the Cecchetti International Classical Ballet Competition to be held in Florence, Italy. The Committee is proud of Irene’s dancing artistry and Dayna Meixell’s dedication.

Irene C. attended the Summer Session on a full scholarship.

SW Committee Scholarship Attendee Madeline Malone

madeline2015a

Hi! My name is Madeline Malone, and I received a scholarship from the Southwest Committee to go to the International Cecchetti Summer School held at Hope College in Holland, Michigan. [I’m here to tell you about my experience there and to thank the board for giving me the scholarship.] [I’m here to show you what it was like to go to the Cecchetti Summer School and hopefully convince some of you to go next summer!] I really enjoyed my time in Michigan, and I learned a lot from it. I learned to persevere through many long classes, my technique improved significantly, and I brought home and applied some great choreography.

Summer Fun

We collected a bunch of fun, serious and silly photographs of the attendees to give you a snapshot of what you can expect if you join us at next year’s National CCA Summer Session.
